The miniseries Iveta looks like a series that deals with the fate of the famous Czech singer Iveta Bartošová, but even such a biopic has its cracks. It is inaccurate in many respects, deviates fundamentally from reality, illogically skips over different time periods and quite often confuses the audience. It is rather a story inspired by Iveta’s life. But people love him, as evidenced by his viewership. Around 900,000 viewers watch each episode.
Rather than the series, its success is due to the constant interest in the late singer. Although Iveta Bartošová took her own life ten years ago, fans have by no means forgotten her. Even those who were not charmed by her singing are interested in what it was like back then. A film or series adaptation of Iveta’s life was thus only a matter of time. And Nova TV finally decided to take this step.
The first series of the series was created already in 2022, and the second one a year later. Although the series was originally intended only for the Voyo platform, on the occasion of its thirtieth anniversary since the start of broadcasting, Nova TV decided to present already filmed episodes of the series on television screens. It gradually aired all six episodes of the first two series.
It is now scheduled to publish the premiere third season from May 10. But she doesn’t look at the screens anymore. It will only be available on the Voyo platform and can only be viewed by those who subscribe to this service. And that can be an unpleasant realization for some of the viewers. If Nova TV wanted to give its fans a gift, then it should have given them the opportunity to watch the entire Iveta series, including the third season, because a gift when you only get part of the story and have to pay for the rest is not quite what the viewers would expect.
On the other hand, it can be a well-thought-out marketing move. Anyone who starts watching the Iveta series on the screens will certainly want to see the third series as well. Its placement on the Voyo platform can then be an impetus for the viewer to subscribe to this service.
In any case, it’s a bit of a blow to the waist for the TV viewer who wanted to see the fate of our pop princess from beginning to end. But perhaps Nova will compromise its principles again and the third season will still appear on TV screens, maybe next year.
The life story of Iveta Bartošová still interests a large number of potential viewers. It is a story about a woman who longs for love and fame. She gets both, only to realize she has neither. Her loneliness eventually drives her into the arms of the demons of alcohol and drugs, from which she can never escape.
