The second semi-final is approaching, in the evening you will be performing on a huge stage and will be seen by viewers from all over the world. How have the last few weeks been for you?
They were quite intense, full of ghosts and rehearsing and filming. We also did a lot of things for social networks. At the same time, I went to various Eurovision events, where you gradually introduce yourself to the fans.

You mentioned social media, is Eurovision all about social media these days?
I’m not saying it’s all about them, not at all. But social media is a really big part of this event.

Describe to us what your performance will look like visually?
I think our performance has enough character, it’s thought out and it has a story behind it. Basically, we wanted to show the five stages of grief in it. It means that the Eurovision stage is the last stage, which is acceptance. There will be a lot of dancing, and we’ll have a bonfire. When you stand on that stage and all of a sudden the fire starts, you suddenly feel very hot.

Introduce us to your Pedestal song that you will be performing with.
It was written when I was in a relationship in which I was not satisfied. I was just very angry. For me personally, it was a kind of reminder that even if we are in a relationship, it is always important to put ourselves first. It’s a song about self-love and that we should know ourselves better and know what works and doesn’t work for us.

Have you listened to songs from other countries? For example, is there the same motif in some?
Of course I have listened to the other songs. Self-love is a theme, but it’s not quite in the same form.

How does Eurovision affect you?
It’s a lot about community. To the community of people who really live Eurovision. Basically, for four months I only deal with Eurovision and it literally absorbs everything. But I’m curious what it will be like when the competition is over.

What is your goal for Eurovision, how can Eurovision help in your career?
I would love to get another audience to connect with the music I create. Eurovision is a good stepping stone to further build your career. But one has to use it wisely. He has to think it through. It’s a competition and just like with Superstar, which I’ve experienced, if you don’t do anything, the ground comes down on you very quickly.

Is there anything that really surprised you at Eurovision?
I was surprised that the only thing that is live during the performance is the vocals. Music is played from playback. And of course it makes sense, because the reconstruction of the stage must be very fast indeed. But with more rock bands, for example, it would make sense to me to have live instruments there.

Eurovision is also about extravagant costumes. Are you planning one too?
Of course it will. Lukáš Macháček takes care of my costume. It is very feminine, at the same time very elegant, but also very provocative.

So you want to provoke with your song Pedestal?
I enjoy provoking in some way, but I’m more interested in evoking an emotion. Either positive or negative. It wasn’t intentional, but I enjoy it.

Eurovision and politics. Does politics belong in Eurovision?
I think that politics should not be part of Eurovision. It’s a music competition and it should be about the music, the show, the singing.

What will happen after Eurovision?
Mainly sleep, because I really haven’t slept much in the last months. But at the same time, I’m already preparing a new album and I’m also going on tour. But I don’t really know what feelings to expect. But I was warned by the team that a void would suddenly appear. At the same time, however, I am looking forward to, for example, a performance at the Metronome festival, where I will perform together with the Kosheen group.
