The Prague International Marathon will limit traffic in the center

The Prague Marathon will start at 9 a.m. from the Old Town Square, 42.195 kilometers await the runners, the route will lead mainly around the Vltava in the territory of Prague 1, 2, 4, 5, 7 and 8. The race should end at 4 p.m. in the Old Town Square.

Policemen and constables will direct the traffic during it. From 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., streets and intersections will gradually be closed and opened along the route of the race. Outside of this time, the normal traffic regime applies, with the exception of Pařížská, Staroměstská and Wenceslas Square streets. A complete overview is available here.

The following roads in Prague 1 will be temporarily closed to cars: Celetná, Čechův most, Dvořákovo nábřeží, Jiráskúv most, Karlův most, Klárov, Křižovnická, Mánesův most, Masarykovo nábřeží, Mostecká, Na Příkopě, Národní, Pařížská, Staroměstské náměstí, Těšnovský tunnel and Ludvík Svoboda embankment, 28 October, Edvard Beneš embankment, U plovárny, Kosárkovo embankment, Jan Palach square, Malostranské náměstí, Tomášská and Valdštejnská square.

Street closures will also apply in some places in Prague 2, specifically on the Rašín embankment, Palacké most, Na Slupi, Svobodova, Sekaninova and Jaromírova streets. The Podolské embankment in Prague 4 and Diezenhofer gardens, Zborovská, Lidická, Nábřežní and Strakonická, Svornosta, Hořejšího and Janáček embankments in Prague 5 will also have traffic restrictions. In Prague 7, it will be Bubenská nábřeží, Jankovcova, Jateční and Komunardů streets and Edvard Beneš embankment and Captain Jaroš. In Prague 8, Libeňské bridge, Štorchova, Voctářova and Rohanského nábřeží streets.

In addition, there will also be a parking ban on the entire race route on Saturday and Sunday. If this prohibition is not respected, the vehicles will be towed.

Tram routes are changing

Starting early in the morning, the marathon on Sunday will also change the routes of some public transport lines. Otherwise, almost all tram lines will run, namely 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 9, 10, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 22, 23, 24, 25, 27, 34, 41, 42 and buses 176, 194, 314, 317, 318, 338, 360,361, 390, 392, 395, 420, X3, X25. The transport company advises to use mainly the metro lines, which will eventually be increased in capacity.
