In the area of cybercrime prevention, Prague 2 focuses mainly on the elderly, and then also on children and youth. Andrea Zoulová, spokeswoman for Vinohrady town hall, informed about it. According to her, the city district also pays attention to regular training of its employees.

The prevention of cybercrime is part of the Senior Academy project cycle and the subject of regular police lectures and discussions held in schools.

“Last year, we expanded this activity by cooperating with Palacký University in Olomouc, which organizes educational seminars for educators on topics in the field of e-security,” said Zoulová.

Last year, the first two seminars were held with the names “Risks of virtual communication” and “Truth and lies in the online space”. These were intended primarily for the professional public, especially pedagogues, who further disseminate the acquired information to pupils or their parents.

We also place emphasis on the information campaign, which is why, in cooperation with the Police of the Czech Republic, we are placing information leaflets and brochures in the information centers of the Prague 2 Municipal District Office pointing out various pitfalls and dangers in the Internet environment and ways to prevent them,” the spokeswoman explained.

Prague 2 has approximately 1.5 million crowns in this year’s budget for the prevention of all crime and the prevention of socially pathological phenomena.

“In the field of crime prevention, we work closely with the city police and the regional police headquarters. In cooperation with constables and police officers, for example, we organize the Senior Academy project every year, which is a cycle of fourteen crime prevention educational programs aimed at informing older citizens,” the spokeswoman described.
