Haná Region Day with Laura

WHY COME: Event for the 20th anniversary of the founding of the Region Haná association. A varied regional market of producers and sellers, a cultural and accompanying program with a number of performances. The dulcimer band Šumica will perform, the brass band Hněvanka will perform, the folk ensemble Kosíř, the vocal group Hifive will also perform, and you can also look forward to a dance performance. Bystrica farmers’ markets and Costume Festival

WHY COME: The square is full of stalls with regional delicacies and the first fruits from the gardens. Beer, cheese curds, cakes, local vegetables, pâtés, strudels, excellent sausages and pastries… At the same time, the folk costume festival will make the square sing. During the morning, the Čekanka Foundation children’s ensemble, the Heskovci z Červeník (SK) folk music group, the Rovina Hanáck male choir and junior dancer Isabella Hebelková will perform on the small stage in front of KD.

Trebčín feasts

WHY COME: The rich feast program will start already on Friday with the lighting of the bonfire in Ohrad and dance entertainment with the Roxy group. Beltine at Ptení Castle

WHY COME: The international, Celtic, musical, fantasy festival BELTINE will once again take place at the picturesque Ptení castle, which is reminiscent of the mythical castle Kamelot. A total of 11 musical groups will perform, as well as dance groups, knights and swordsmen. You can also look forward to a fire show or the artillery of the tsarist regiment. The start of the event is on Friday from 2 p.m., ending in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Not just folk afternoons

Puppet Pentecost

WHY GO: Amateur puppet theaters from all over the country are heading to Přerov. This year, an ensemble from Prostějov will appear on the Přerov stage with the fairy tale About Princess Fiflen and Ruměn the Devil. A troupe from Rakovník will come with the fairy tale O trých čúnicích, and the Klubíčko Zábřeh puppet workshop will perform a fairy tale about their famous native, which is called The Journey of Jan Eskymo Welzel. From the workshop of the Prague puppet theaters, the audience will see four puppet shows, namely the Gingerbread House from Prague’s Královské Vinohrady and the Bubeníček theater. The ensemble Říše loutek Praha will play Dášeňka, Jiskra Praha Kobylisy will then perform Vodníková Hanička, and Praha Hostivař, the Frydolín puppet theater, will present a puppet show of Kašpárka’s fairy tale. The association of puppeteers in Louny has prepared the play Princess Jockey, and the puppet theater Srdíčko z Vysoké Mýt will bring the fairy tale Reason and Luck. The local Přerov ensemble will play the fairy tale Ferda Mravenec, right after the opening ceremony on Saturday, May 11 at 9 a.m.

Mother’s Day in Michalov

WHY GO: Art workshops for young and old will be prepared on the area next to the restaurant – you can make a gift for your mother here. SUMPER and JESENICKA

Meeting and competition of vintage cars in Zábřeh

WHY COME: As part of the celebration of the city’s 770 years, another extremely interesting event intended for the general public will take place in Zábřeh. After a five-year hiatus, an exhibition and competition of vintage automobiles and motorcycles will return to Masaryk Square on Saturday, May 11. This year, owners of cars manufactured before 1980 are invited. At 10:30 a.m., the veterans’ race will start on a 60 km long route around Zábrež. During the entire time of the exhibition of vintage cars, but also after the start of the race until the announcement of the results, attractions for children, the possibility of refreshments will be prepared for visitors on the square, and after noon the country band Pracka will also be playing here.

AMULET celebrates 30 years

Underground Comedy Club is heading to Šumperk

WHY COME: Comedians from the Underground Comedy Club will visit the Club Foyer of the Šumper House of Culture after two years. The performers themselves, Nikola Džokič, Tereza Bonaventurová and Honza Géryk, state about their stand-up show: “We will show you a good portion of our humor, which is sometimes as gentle as a child’s butt, other times as sharp as a razor in a barber shop. The ultimate two-hour performance full of humor awaits you, which will not leave you alone. We open topics that are not discussed. It will again be a sharp stand-up, at times obscene and inaccessible to youth under the age of 15.”

Accordion recital by Jitka Baštová in Jeseník

WHY COME: Accordionist Jitka Baštová studied at the conservatory in Pardubice and subsequently graduated from the University of Performing Arts in Bratislava. His achievements include 3rd place at an international competition in Slovakia. In 2007, she also took 3rd place at the conservatory competition show. The musical program celebrates the 19th century Czech composers Bedřich Smetana, Antonín Dvořák and Leoš Janáček, who laid the foundations of our national music. In the concert performance, their most famous compositions will be performed by a solo concert accordion.
