The Loun Museum invites you to the Ore Mountains

--

A new exhibition was recently opened in the Regional Museum in Louny. The author of the photographs is Jakub Rejent, and he captures nature in its wildness and beauty, in detail and as a whole, from spring to winter and from Aš to Ústí nad Labem.

Each photo has a wonderful description from the magazine Turistick obzor from 1910 to 1947. Visitors were invited to the Ore Mountains not only by the author of the photos, but also by the deputy director of the Krušnohoří Destination Agency, Jan Kerner. At the opening ceremony, visitors were delighted by a part of the Mnichovo Smradiště Band. In the Loune museum, the exhibition is open until June 16 and is really worth a visit.

The next exhibition will open at the museum on Tuesday, May 7. Come and see orchids, rare beauties of our nature, in detail in large photographs. You will get to know their stories and how they are doing in the Český středohoří. The ceremonial opening of the exhibition is at 5 p.m. The exhibition will last until August 25.

The exhibition summarizes the results of long-term monitoring of the occurrence of orchids in the Bohemian Central Highlands. It was prepared by the Regional Museum in Litoměřice in 2019 in cooperation with botanists and photographers, following the second edition of the book Orchids of the Central Highlands. The exhibition is complemented by herbarium items from the collections of the Regional Museum in Louny. Children can also get to know orchids at the exhibition through coloring books and plasticine. The accompanying program for the exhibition will be an excursion to Třtěnská strán on 12 May, a guided tour of the exhibition on 21 May, an excursion to Houžetín on 23 June, a lecture on Orchids of the Český středohoří, and also a program on orchids for school and out-of-school groups.
