In June 2021, the regional court began to deal with the case in which the accused of manipulating the project for more than 14 billion crowns was covered.

We are in the phase where the responses of the defendants have been completed and we have begun to carry out further proof. It is a matter of hearing witnesses and providing documentary evidence, said the chairman of the senate, Ji Blaek.

“Given the sweat of the above witnesses, I estimate that it will take five years to complete the evidence,” added the judge.

The prosecutor wants to call around a hundred witnesses to the court. These are people who somehow came into contact with this case. This week, for example, the father-in-law and mother-in-law of ex-publisher Petr Kunierz, who was involved in the case due to his cooperation with the police, were supposed to arrive this week, but later he so-called turned around in court and started claiming that the police wanted a case against him.

Some of his predecessors refused to drink, saying that they wouldn’t smell the same. The judge thus read their statements from the correct sentence. They explained to the police where in 2014 750 thousand was taken to pay the fine for Kunierz, so that he could leave the prisoner, where he was sent by the court in another line of the ROP Northwest case.

They described to the police that they had received them from the lawyer Alee Dostl. He didn’t know who he got them from. None of the defendants was involved in the source of the money.

Novk: Subsidies and projects did not interest me

Wrapped up this week, they just got the space to come up with two of Kunierz’s answers. Again they denied the charge.

Pbh, in which you can be the head of some criminal group, is out of reality. I didn’t discuss projects or subsidies with Kunierz, because I wasn’t interested in it, stated Chomutov mayor and senator Alexandr Novk, who, according to the complaint, was the head of the octopus that influenced the distribution of European subsidies in the Stec region.

While his speech lasted only a few minutes, businessman Daniel Jeek was far more forthcoming, giving a central figure of the group. I have never had any power over Dothan Adam and his employees. I wasn’t interested in the way the subsidy was distributed, I didn’t influence it in any way. I have always respected the independence of ROP Northwest, said Jeek. He spoke for two hours.

Understandably, they pointed out the contradictions in Kunierz’s statements. The latter described how he consulted with Novek and Jek on individual projects, as well as the roles of others involved. In court, however, he then turned around and claimed that he was under pressure from the evaluator and that in reality he did not listen to anyone and that he did not know anything about anyone influencing the evaluation process.

The twist in the case plays into the cards. The way Petr Kunierz’s answers are spread… It is clear that they are unworthy and that, according to them, a false allegation of a criminal organization was created, the accused Karlovy Vary politician Tom Hybner stated in the hearing of the Litomice District Court, which, considering its size, created the ground for discussed fallout.

Wrapped up, think that the police and prosecutors pressured Kunierze into giving the answers they wanted to hear.
