The new Ferrari 12Cilindri has an improved naturally aspirated V12 engine

During a special event on the American Miami Beach, the Ferrari car company presented its new Grand Tourer with a front-mounted engine, whose unusual name 12Cilindri refers to the drivetrain. Translated from Italian, it means 12 cylinders, and that’s how many the atmospheric engine under the hood will offer.

Specifically, it is an improved 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12 engine that uses new (lightweight) materials and knowledge from the world of Formula 1, has reduced friction and increased efficiency. The engine reaches up to 9500 revolutions per minute, offers a maximum power of 830 hp at 9250 revolutions and a maximum torque of 678 Nm at 7250 revolutions.

The engine is connected to an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, and thanks to it the coupe with a weight of 1560 kilograms accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.9 seconds, crosses the 200 km/h mark in 7.9 seconds and reaches up to 340 km/h. The Spider with a weight of 1620 kilograms is slightly slower, it accelerates to 100 km/h in 2.95 seconds and reaches 200 km/h in 8.2 seconds.

The car is equipped with an all-wheel steering system and wears specially developed Michelin Pilot Sport S5 or Goodyear Eagle F1 Supersport tires measuring 275/35 ZR21 at the front and 315/35 ZR21 at the rear. Weight distribution is 48.4% on the front axle and 51.6% on the rear axle. The Brake-by-wire brake system or the Slide Slip Control system, which allows you to set the angle at which the driver passes a corner, will help the driver with driving as standard.

In terms of design, the 12Cilindri model is quite significantly different from the latest pieces from Ferrari production. The front is reminiscent of the historic 365 GTB/4 Daytona model, while the automaker itself speaks of a more sophisticated design language compared to the 812 Superfast model. Emphasis was placed on clean lines, powerful character and aerodynamics.

The new model thus received a specially designed floor, the automaker installed blinds behind the rear wheels to reduce excess pressure in the engine compartment, the car is equipped with vortex generators and there are active aerodynamic elements that adjust downforce between speeds of 60 km/h and 300 km/h.

In addition to the traditional emphasis on sporty design and luxurious materials, the cabin also offers three displays. In front of the driver is a 15.6-inch digital instrument panel, in the center of the dashboard is a 10.25-inch infotainment screen, and in front of the passenger is an 8.8-inch display with information about the dynamics of the car. In addition, the car received a Burmester audio system.

The price of the coupe starts in Italy from 395,000 euros (approx. 9.9 million crowns), for the spider customers will pay from 435,000 euros (approx. 10.9 million crowns).
