On May 1, the intersection in the center of Věrovan in Olomouc was busy. The place is located on the cycling route between Olomouc and Kroměříž, and a beer booth has recently grown here.
Dozens of hikers who got thirsty while pedaling headed for the self-service bar during the holiday.
“I didn’t know about the beer booth in Věrovany at all. We have a stop here for the May Day cycling event of the Microregion of the Kingdom, and I am pleasantly surprised,” assessed the man in his fifties. He was enjoying a freshly brewed beer in a cycling jersey with a helmet on his head.

A well-stocked wooden booth under a mulberry tree is one of the few options on the roughly fifty-kilometer route connecting the two Central Moravian cities, where cyclists can buy refreshments.
Here, they can refresh themselves with hand-drawn beer or lemonade for only a few months.
“It has been in operation since last year. Clouds of cyclists ride this way and the pub is uphill. This place is ideal,” explained Mr. Zbyněk from Věrovan, who helps the owner ensure the operation of the novelty.

There are two brands on the spigot that lovers of the golden juice can enjoy from a glass. They can be found on the shelf above the “sink” right next to the booth. “We also have a variety of soft drinks,” added Mr. Zbyněk, hurrying to refill the lemonades, which were quickly disappearing during the warm May Day weather.
There is a “washroom” at the nice refreshment room and a pleasant sitting area in the greenery.
The operation of the self-service bar “under the mulberry tree” in Věrovany is based on the operator’s trust in the seriousness of visitors, just as in the case of similar facilities for tourists operating in several places in the Olomouc region.
