The difference between the two clubs has shrunk from twelve points in the winter to six, so Kladen felt they had a chance before the match. “I dare to say that we’re going to catch it now, that we’re not going to let it slip away anymore. But watch out, we won’t slow down, we’ll go all the way to the last lap. When everything becomes clear, it will of course be a great relief,” said Filip Schreiner, the hero of Friday evening.

They have to experience it , otherwise they won’t learn it,” stated Zdeněk Hašek and added: “But I take it positively, matches like these guys can move things along.”

Chomutov’s coach Tomáš Smola did not see the exuberant celebrations and joy on the field, he disappeared into the bowels of the stadium after the red card. But of course I would be satisfied. “A match with great intensity on both sides. Kladno tried to play constructively from the goalkeeper. We went to the press room, we knew what they were going to play and we said to ourselves at the beginning that we would try how it would look. When we saw that it was working out for us, we stepped into it the whole match,” Smola admitted, according to which some of his charges were scratching the bottom of their physical strength. “But that’s what I was preparing them for, because these matches are simply played that way. In short, it’s not just about football skills, but also about combativeness, shots on goal, chances. This was on our side today. In the end, it was a lucky goal, but I think we deserved to win,” assessed the pilot from Chomut.

His counterpart from Kladno, Zdeněk Hašek, eventually replaced all his footballers except goalkeepers Cimrman and Kalina. “At halftime, I bet on experience, I believed that we could use it to turn the match in our favor. Unfortunately, it didn’t work out, and in addition, we conceded the second goal at the end, which I think was stupid. We didn’t want to take risks, nor did we push the goalkeeper forward , because there are still a lot of rounds left and with a loss of six points, something could still be done,” the coach regretted the ending.

He didn’t even like the push at the end, he read it to the home player. “He stepped on ours and that’s not done, even when we’re all emotional. We can say it face to face, but not when a player is lying on the ground and someone stomps on his foot on purpose. That spoiled the ending.”
