Tanko was sent off for the second time against Slavia. I am angry, Hapal admits

--

The intervention in Douděr in December was an absolute short-circuit on Tank’s part. He was suspended for three matches, he apologized. Hapal was very angry with the nimble attacker, but they told each other everything, Tanko then described how he was overcome by emotions.

The fresh red card was from another morning. In the 50th minute, Tanko had a running duel with Holeš, attacking him. The Slavist defender played the ball, then the Nigerian forward stepped on his ankle. Unhappily, unintentionally, but also dangerously. This operation hurt Holeša a lot.

“I was definitely worried about him. Tomas was squirming a lot. You could see that he was in a lot of pain, which is not usual for him. It could have been a long term injury. I’m glad he’s okay, even if not 100 percent. But he could have continued in the match,” noted Slavist winger Ivan Schranz.

The head referee Ladislav Szikszay first whistled for a foul, did not give any card. Colleagues at VAR, Marek Radina and Ivo Nádvorník, however, called him to review the entire situation on the monitor. Szikszay drew a red card after watching replays, Tanko shook his head as he left for the cabins.

Hapal was angry again, but at the same time more conciliatory than in December. “I don’t know if it was a red light. I haven’t seen the replays yet. Holeše approached and stepped on his foot. But I’m angry, we need them for the next matches. And now he’s out for one or two games,” Hapal said.

At that moment, the score was 2:0 for the stitchers, the game was finally broken, the home team added three more goals. “The red card decided. Slavia then dominated, we didn’t have the strength to do it,” coach Baník admitted.

A more significant contribution is expected from Tank. The Nigerian hit only once in the spring. “It doesn’t have the shape we’d imagine. His speed stuff isn’t that good either, but he’s still dangerous for defenses with his speed. He didn’t play an excellent match here, rather an average one,” noted Hapal.
