Nokia is still alive in mobiles. New button models are capable of LTE, older ones get a USB-C connector – MobilMania.cz

HMD has announced six new push-button phones under the Nokia brand, which (with the exception of smartphones) can be used until 2026. Phones are traditionally focused on absolutely undemanding users who do not want to deal with touch screens. Three models are completely new, although they are very similar, the other three are revivals of previous models. The most striking addition is the USB-C connector, which will be required by the EU for all newly introduced models from December this year.

The basic Nokia 2015 4G (2014) saved and saved until it came with the rear camera

The full foundation is in the reborn portfolio Nokia 215 4G (2024). This is such a basic model that the camera has even disappeared behind the back. In its place, only the illumination diode remained, which serves as an emergency flashlight. The ideal mobile phone for factories where the owners fear industrial espionage. The phone has a 2.8″ QVGA display, a replaceable 1,450mAh battery charged via USB-C, 128MB memory (expandable via microSD) and Bluetooth 5.0. The S30+ system runs on a Unisoc T107 processor. Price? After conversion, around 1,600 CZK.

Nokia 225 4G (2024) brings back the VGA camera, but at the cost of a smaller display

Nokia 225 4G (2024) adds a pink color variant as well as a camera. However, it only has VGA resolution and the display diagonal has been reduced to 2.4 inches. Everything else remains in the equipment, including the FM radio, MP3 player and Dual SIM support. The highest ranked Nokia 235 4G (2024) then it offers a larger 2.8″ display, a 2MP camera in the base and three color variants – blue, black and purple. It will cost 1,900 CZK, the middle variant will be about 150 CZK cheaper.

The facelifts of the Nokia 230, 5310 and 6310 brought mainly the USB-C connector, the other changes are mostly cosmetic

Models have also expanded the portfolio Nokia 230 (2024), Nokia 5310 (2024) and Nokia 6310 (2024), which are just a facelift of already sold older versions, in one case even a 9-year-old model. In the Nokia 230, the photo module has been slightly changed compared to the original from 2015, in the new Nokia 5310, the display has grown slightly and the processor has changed, the rest remains the same as the predecessor from 2020. The latest innovation has improved the battery, the rest of the specifications remain the same as in the predecessor from 2021. Even this trio already “compulsorily” received a USB-C connector.

Prices are calculated after conversion from prices for the UK market. It is not yet clear which models will also look at the Czech market, because the HMD company has slowed down its activities here – it has stopped selling smartphones completely and there is a very limited offer of push-button models. The last time the already legendary Nokia 3310 (2017) was put on sale here.
