We were, and again, we weren’t in such a mess. He was the mayor when I was a diplomat. When I went to ODS, it was under the line, but it was not led. Of course I watched him, he was simply unwatchable, recalled Alexandr Vondra from ODS.

According to Vondra, Miroslav Macek had a lot of controversial views. I, too, often disagreed with him, Vondra added.

Macek played the role of a wolf in the parties, said Vondra. According to him, this is the position of a hunter who has enough build and is always ready to bite into the opponent and not let go. According to Vondra, Macek fulfilled it to the fullest for Vclav Klaus. He highlighted his ability to force many cards to be broken.

Miroslav Macek died in Sweden at the age of 79, according to the Albatros Media publishing house, which published his books. After the Velvet Revolution, he was a politician for the Obansk frum, later a co-founder of the ODS and its mayor.
