While the bikers as part of the “Victory Road” event, which started at the end of April in Slovakia, arrived at the parking lot at the cemetery, about two dozen opponents were waiting for them in front of the entrance. They waved the flags of NATO, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Ukraine. They also unfurled a large banner with the words “We welcome the delegates of the Russian Terrorist Federation”.
“We came to show that we do not agree with how they worship Putin’s terrorist Russia,” one of the protesters told Novinka. “We are afraid of confrontation because they are aggressive,” another participant admitted to her fear of bikers.
The head of the Czech section of the motorcycle club, going by the name Martin, called on all the participants in the parking lot not to be provoked, which most of them endured while passing by the opponents. Only a few bikers did not forgive themselves for the venomous remarks.

This was followed by the laying of wreaths and flowers at the monument to fallen Red Army soldiers. “Let’s not forget why these men and women lie here. Let’s not forget that freedom is not free, they shed blood for us,” reminded the head of the Czech bikers. The Czech and Slovak anthems were also played, the Russian anthem was not played by the motorcyclists.
A minor incident occurred only when leaving the cemetery, when one of the participants tried to very clumsily tap the butt of a cigarette against the Ukrainian flag.
The event was observed by political scientist and expert on extremism Miroslav Mareš, according to whom it was peaceful. “Unlike some previous events, there were no direct propaganda references. From my point of view, the participation of bikers from the Balkan region was interesting,” noted Mareš.
At the weekend, the motorcyclists will continue to travel in South Moravia and arrive in Kroměříž, on Monday they will go to Prague, where they are to arrive at the Olšan Cemetery at 1 p.m.
