After all, it is beautiful there and the country breathes history! Not only Jews, but also Muslims and Christians, together with Armenians, live side by side in the Old Town. On one single square kilometer!

Ordering a plane ticket was the smallest thing. As well as accommodation in half-empty tourist hostels. In order not to burn myself out and to get to know a bit of the world, I started making an itinerary.

Tel Aviv seems like a cosmopolitan city to me, I will explore it! But what, right? So I started looking on the net and it gave me a little chills. Did the Arab settlers of the Gaza Strip really attack the Jews?

It is so. So: The Square of the Kidnapped seems like an interesting location to me. Even today, more than a hundred Israelis are held captive somewhere in Gaza. If those people are alive. Hamas fighters are reportedly moving them to where they expect retaliatory strikes.

Should one encourage tourism in places that depend on it?

Clearly. Life must not stop.

Wouldn’t it be better to stay at home behind the stove and not pay attention to what is happening elsewhere?

I wouldn’t go. I just need to look at the news and I don’t need more.

Then also Jerusalem. It is said to be two train stops from Tel Aviv. My hotel is almost in front of one of the gates to this Babylon of life and destinies.

I might take the star to Brno

Already last week, I joined the community of German evangelicals who are praying for peace from the Wailing Wall online. I listened to them, only to find out that from the 250 worshipers before, only less than twenty now attend the services.

I will at least support them locally by visiting the cafe they run to have a coffee and a chat with them. I also bought a camera. I have a feeling that after returning to the Czech Republic, I could organize an exhibition of the interesting things I collect.

I am most likely to meet the Israeli writer Sarah Blue, who is going to Brno in the summer. At least in return I will be able to wait for her at Prague’s Ruzyné airport and maybe offer to take her to Moravia. It should be a welcome refreshment to the days of Jewish culture.

To be sure, I looked at the recommendations of the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs on tourist routes. I was a little surprised how precise the Czech Republic is. Every visitor should be careful that nothing happens to them. And avoid places with a greater concentration of people. Terrorist attacks cannot be predicted in advance.

So I registered in DROZD, which is a Czech information application where individuals who go out into the world can register. I also sent the plan of my program there. At the end of the preparations, I visited a classmate from elementary school who was studying at the Hebrew University.

He recommended where to exchange crowns for shekels at a good rate, which I did this morning. At the end of my stay, I should go as a guest to a Shabbat dinner with volunteers from the Tel Aviv congregation. I look forward to.

There are enough topics for me to write every day and send a few lines to readers on Seznam Médium. I will probably accompany them with my photos. I arrive on Saturday, which is Shabbat. A day meant for rest. It just doesn’t work. There is no public transport either. How do I get from the airport to the hotel is already a big question mark for me.
