The new Mini Countryman arrives in the most powerful version

Two months after the premiere of the new generation of the stylish crossover Mini Countryman, the British brand presents its sports version, bearing the traditional designation John Cooper Works. At the same time, the sporty character reveals a distinctive appearance with a number of specific elements from a distance.

We can mention, for example, the newly designed, glossy black octagonal grille, LED headlights with a special JCW Signature mode, aerodynamic elements with vertical reflectors in the front part, specific C-pillars or a contrasting roof in Chili Red. However, the JCW logo itself, which was recently modernized, cannot be neglected either.

Red accessories also appear in the sporty cabin, equipped with JCW sports seats, two-tone textile upholstery and a number of JCW decors. The rear row of seats can be moved in a range of 13 centimeters, and after folding the backrests, the luggage compartment can be increased from 460 to 1450 liters.

But now let’s look at the most important thing, i.e. the power unit. Under the hood hides a 2.0-liter, turbocharged gasoline four-cylinder, which received reinforced pistons, connecting rods and silent blocks. The engine is equipped with a turbocharging system and dual direct and indirect injection.

The four-cylinder engine offers a maximum output of 221 kW (300 hp) and a maximum torque of 400 Nm, which goes to the ALL4 all-wheel drive system. The new Mini John Cooper Works Countryman thus accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.4 seconds and reaches a maximum speed of 250 km/h.

The sporty driving experience is enhanced by a tuned exhaust and an engine sound generator is also located in the cabin. An interesting feature is the Go-Kart driving mode, which should emphasize the emotions of driving by emphasizing the sound in the cabin.

The feel of driving in a go-kart should also be enhanced by the new wheels, the overall diameter of which has been increased by 30 mm (to 710 mm) and they wear tires with a width of 245 mm.

The equipment is also complemented by aerodynamically optimized wheels with a diameter of 19 and 20 inches, intended only for the JCW model.

The top countryman on the Czech market starts at a price of 1,261,000 crowns.
