Women from all over the world decided on the car of the year: a large electric SUV, a great sports car or a rugged four-wheeler

--

Forget the chauvinistic ideas that men rule the world. It’s no secret that choosing a car – a purely male matter, you might say – is largely done by women. Either indirectly (“Well, you probably won’t order it in black.”), or directly (“We need a bigger SUV, the family is suffocating.”). So a woman’s perspective on the world of four wheels is really important.

And actually, it is not radically different from the male one. When a wide jury of 75 female motoring journalists from 52 countries on five continents she was choosing her car of the year from 62 options, it pretty much coincides with our favorites as well. Judge for yourself…

In the category of family cars, the new Volvo EX30 won, a comfortable and safe electric crossover with a funky attitude that pleases not only the driver, but also the entire crew. The EX30 was certainly helped by the fact that it was made with a lot of attention to sustainability.

The Volvo EX30 is a nice electric car not only for the city.

Among the large cars, the BMW 5 Series excelled, which is offered with a wide range of highly efficient engines with different levels of electrification (from mild hybrids to plug-in hybrids to the purely electric version of the i5). The judges also appreciated that it was the first car from the Bavarian automaker to offer a purely vegan interior.

The BMW 5 Series combines a conservative approach with modern technology.

The Kia EV9 became the SUV of the year in the eyes of a female jury, a large electric car that seats up to seven passengers. At the same time, it is armed with top drive technology built on 800V architecture, which brings a range of over 500 kilometers and fast charging. In favor of the EV9, the price is also high (about two million crowns), but it is very competitive within the segment (it can be said that it is a downright premium concept).

The category of four-wheelers and pick-ups was dominated by the Volkswagen Amarok, which followed on from last year’s victory of the Ford Ranger sibling. Women appreciated its comfortable interior, off-road capabilities and transport capacity.

Despite the increase in comfort, the Volkswagen Amarok remains a tireless worker.

Aston Martin DB12 deservedly became the exclusive car of the year, a fundamentally improved version of the previous Gran Turismo DB11 brought to perfection. This beauty has the power of 680 horses, whose powerful pull (it can reach 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds and whizzes by at a maximum speed of 325 km/h) can be enjoyed in a luxurious interior.

Who wouldn’t want to experience the wildness of a herd of 680 horses behind the wheel of such a magnificent car as the Aston Martin DB12.

And who is the overall winner? So we have to wait for that until the ceremonial announcement on March 8, i.e. on International Women’s Day. Which car do you predict?

It is worth remembering that Czech women also have a similar poll – For the fifth time, a 12-member expert jury and the public choose their The car of my heart. The winner will be announced at the beginning of April, so you still have plenty of time to enter.

Which car are you tipping for the WWCOTY 2024 title?
