But seriously, who’s going to sell you something like that these days? And who would have thought that Ford would even bring such a car out here in their right mind? It did, and it has no analogues on the market, yet the prices seem fair, even if the tempting Dark Horse has lost some of its appeal after the trip across the ocean.

The seventh generation of Ford Mustang was introduced to the world for the first time in 2022, but it did not go on sale in the States until last year. And even if, unlike its predecessor, customers had to do without a six-cylinder, few people minded. What was important was that the legendary muscle car did not lose its V8 engine. Except for it, the American clientele can also reach for the 2.3-liter four-cylinder EcoBoost. What is extremely interesting, however, is that this particular engine is not available to European customers, at least for now. The Mustang currently headed to the old continent only with an eight-cylinder engine.

However, the power unit called Coyote received a number of interventions on the way across the ocean to help meet stricter emission and noise standards. In the case of the base version of the GT, the output has been reduced from 487 to 446 hp, while the torque has dropped from 562 to 540 Nm. In the press release, Ford also mentions an active exhaust system, which actually means even more downforce. With this technology, the Mustang GT overseas has 493 horses and 566 Newton meters.

European clientele can pair this design with a six-speed manual or a ten-speed automatic, while in the first case you can count on a sprint to 100 km/h in 5.2 seconds and a top speed of 263 km/h, in the second case with 4.4 seconds and 250 km/h. As standard, this version has Brembo brakes and a self-locking differential, the MagneRide chassis, which adjusts the settings a thousand times per second in favor of the best possible handling, is available for an additional fee.

A somewhat bigger disappointment will probably be associated with the roughest version called Dark Horse, which has 507 hp and 566 Nm available overseas. The Europeans have to make do with 453 horses and 540 Nm. Driving dynamics therefore practically do not change, at least in a straight line. On the circuit, however, the Dark Horse should benefit from the rear wing, diffuser and side sills, the shape of which was influenced by the racing special. The suspension is also specific, with Pirelli tires ensuring maximum grip.

Many local dealerships have already published prices, in the case of the German market closest to us, you can count on 59,900 Eur (approx. 1,491,000 CZK) for the coupe and 65,000 Eur (1,618,000 CZK) for the convertible for the GT version. 72,500 Euros (1,805,000 CZK) must be taken out of your pocket for Dark Horse. At the same time, when we realize that it started at 1,506,900 CZK in our country, it can be assumed that the novelty will score points again – even if compared to the sixth generation with 449 horses, it loses slightly in terms of performance.

In short, we will just fly through the interior, which has a 12.4-inch digital instrument panel and a 13.2-inch multimedia screen. The connection of the system with mobile phones is wireless thanks to the Android Auto and Apple CarPlay functions, and thanks to the 5G connection, you can count on the possibility of streaming music directly from the Internet and navigation information displayed in real time. At the same time, owners can customize colors and graphics.

As for the convertible, its roof is better insulated in the seventh generation. It can be folded down or put on in 8 seconds, and even when driving with the top down, you can count on enough space for two golf bags in the luggage compartment. That’s the end of the press release, the European representative office of Ford is currently not mentioning the possible arrival of the GTD variant, which packs a 5.2-liter turbocharged eight-cylinder engine producing over 800 horsepower.
