Last year was very bad for the German smartphone manufacturer. The world is under pressure from the duo of Apple and Samsung, and the domestic market, which saw an unprecedented drop in 2022, is once again under pressure from the wolf. First, statistical data show that there is minimal to no evidence.

In total, less than 290 million smartphones were sold on the German market last year. Of course, that’s a big deal, but in 2021 it was 351 million. But last year, i.e. in 2022, only 272 million again. These are at least the members of the Public Women’s Academy of Information and Telecommunication Technologies (CAICT). Analytical agency Counterpoint Research, on the other hand, stated that the German mobile market fell again last year, but only by 1.4 percent.

There is no reason for great optimism, even if the sales for the last quarter published by Counterpoint indicate a turn for the better. According to them, in the last quarter of the year, the domestic market grew by an average of 6.6 percent, which was the first after ten quarters of an average decline.

From a European point of view, the strength of the Dutch market cannot be overstated. They are.
