The electric Renault 5 got its first limited edition, referring to the famous tournament

--

In the past, the Peugeot brand was mainly associated with the Roland Garros tennis tournament, which during the nineties and after the beginning of the new millennium presented a series of compact models in a special edition named Roland Garros.

However, Renault is now a partner of the French Grand Slam, named after the famous French pilot shot down during the First World War. And she didn’t miss the opportunity to get her own special edition out of the tournament.

The basis is the recently presented electric hatchback Renault 5 E-Tech, which caught the eye during its premiere with a stylish design inspired by retro style and a number of practical and funny details. And the new limit is in a similar spirit.

The Renault 5 E-Tech Roland Garros will be available in Pearl White, Midnight Blue, Starry Black and the exclusive Matt Slate Gray. The black-painted roof has a textile structure, the chrome decors are finished in dark satin, and the wheel arches feature 18″ Ecro alloy wheels with gray center caps. The front door is also decorated with the tournament logo.

The cabin features recycled fabric upholstery with a distinctive pattern and the tournament logo on the seatback. The name of the tournament is illuminated in front of the passenger, and the gear selector behind the steering wheel is wrapped like a tennis racket handle. The carpets and mat in the center console have a red-brown clay color.

The limited edition will be on display during the tournament, along with other versions of the 5 E-Tech. In addition, the car company provided the organizers with 180 hybrid and electric cars, among which there are also five pieces of the original Renault 5 from the 1970s, which, however, was converted to electric drive.
