Another train left without a driver. Regionova traveled five kilometers, then derailed

The spokesperson of the Fire Department of the Railway Administration (SŽ) announced on Thursday afternoon that engine unit 814 Regionova derailed on line 210 between Prague and Dobříš near the village of Klínec around 1:15 p.m. The operation is stopped until at least tomorrow, according to the ČD Emergency website. The track is expected to start around midnight, the track will be repaired tomorrow.

Firefighters from the Railway Administration intervene on the scene, traffic on the track is stopped, as are trains of the S88 line in the Měchenice – Dobříš section. The date for the restoration of traffic is currently set for tomorrow morning.

However, according to Zdopravy.cz sources, the derailed train left without a driver. The unsecured train set off already at the Čisovice station, according to the photos it was a Regionova unit.

The train, without a driver, then passed the departure signal and switch and traveled a total of five kilometers on the track before derailing. During this, she passed four railway crossings secured only by a warning cross without barriers.

According to the spokesman of the Railway Inspectorate, Martin Drápal, the damage was estimated at 9.1 million crowns (8.5 million train, 600 thousand track). “Based on the investigation so far, the Railway Inspection is working with the variant of human factor failure or technical defect on the set,” added Claw.

SŽ fire department spokesman Martin Kavka said that an accident train was on its way to the scene. At the same time, two Railway Inspectorate inspectors also arrived at the derailment site. The train driver was placed out of service.

“An empty engine unit 814 was run over in the Čisovice railway station in the direction of Skochovice. There were no passengers or staff members on the train at the time of the emergency. The train was stopped and locked at the time,” subsequently confirmed the spokesperson of Czech Railways, Filip Medelský.

According to him, all safety rules worked immediately and traffic on the track was immediately interrupted even before the Regionova unit derailed at approximately km 24.6 in the Bojovského potok valley.

“There were no injuries and no one was injured in the incident“, Medelský added.

Traffic on the line is currently suspended, České dráhy has provided replacement bus transport, ČD travel documents are recognized in selected sections on the PID lines.
