The legendary beer suddenly ends in the Czech Republic. You will never get it again, people are mad

The Czech Republic is literally famous for producing an abundance of various beers. Both from large breweries and smaller ones. While elsewhere you will come across at most a few brands that taste very similar, in the country you can really choose.

The amazing selection is dwindling

There is even a strong tradition here, where some popular pubs and restaurants are founded on the fact that they have been tapping the same beer for decades. They can afford it, as the breweries will support them in this case and at least continue to supply them with the golden juice of the given brand.

But as it seems, the economic reality is inexorable and these traditions can end very quickly. Now it has become clear how easy it is to just cancel your favorite beer. This happened in the case of the brewery Velkopopovický kozel, which suddenly liquidated the extremely popular Masterův lager beer.

Without announcing anything in advance, the brewery simply canceled deliveries of this beer to restaurants that were often dependent on it. For example, it significantly affected the restaurant Hostinec U Černého vola, which is literally legendary among Prague regulars. It is one of the most famous pubs in the Czech Republic, which differed from the competition in that it did not tap Pilsenský prazdroj or Staropramen, but Kozla dvanátka.

They simply didn’t bring another beer

“Velkopopovická 12° has been on tap in our pub since 1965. The strong and traditional connection is confirmed, among other things, by the mural directly above the tap,” informs the brewery on its website. “Unfortunately, Kozel 12° will no longer be available. The brewery has stopped bottling Master’s Lager in barrels and the beer is no longer available. It happened without any prior notice, literally overnight.”

A tradition lasting 60 years ended unexpectedly. That’s one thing, but the way the brewery handled a long-time partner is admirable. He did not warn him in advance and only announced that he simply would not receive the next batch of barrels.

According to the available information, the Velkopopovicky kozel wants to continue to focus on its eleven, which is said to be more popular than the twelve. At least from the point of view that more businesses tap into it. But the beauty of it was that you could choose. He’s going to be out of luck now.
