ČD believes that they will not have to cut up the wrecks.

Unit 814 Regionova should disappear from the line from Prague to Dobříš on Thursday, which remained there after Thursday’s unsecured run without a driver. České dráhy planned to recover the unit on Thursday, May 9. When it derailed, it got so far from the track that it was impossible to extricate it with a regular accident train.

Czech Railways will use a crane together with the accident train on Thursday. “The planned course of work is such that the inserted car 014.013, which is now located closer to the track, will be placed on the tracks by a rail crane and towed to Prague. Engine car 814.226, which is located further from the track after the accident, we will first try to approach the tracks with the help of locomotives. If the approach is successful, it will then be lifted by the rail crane and, depending on the extent of the damage to the undercarriage, a decision will be made about the method of transport to the transport company in Dobříš and the next procedure,Filip Medelský, spokesman for Czech Railways, described the plan. Emergency rescue equipment of the Czech Railways will primarily be used for removal, and the Fire and Rescue Service will also help on the spot.

Another train left without a driver. Regionova traveled five kilometers, then derailed

The carrier believes that by using the tracks it will be possible to remove vehicle wrecks quickly without having to cut them up on site.

The clearing work will require a road closure on the line between Čisovice and Měchenice. České dráhy will provide replacement bus transport for the duration of the lockout on Thursday, which will operate between Praha-Zbraslav and Čisovice stations and vice versa. From the direction of Prague and Vrané nad Vltavou, trains will exceptionally terminate in Měchenice.

The incident happened on Thursday at 1:15 p.m. at the Čisovice station. The empty set traveled over five kilometers. According to Zdopravy.cz, the set reached a speed of 100 kilometers per hour and passed four railway crossings.

The investigators estimated the damage at 9.1 million crowns, and they are investigating the cause. The railway inspection works similarly to the police with the variant of human factor failure or technical fault on the set. The driver was taken out of service.
