The unit for Serbia is headed for the fastest track there.

Attempts by the world’s largest manufacturer of railway technology to break into the European market do not stop. The Chinese company CRRC brought two more new trains to Europe within two weeks. One is for the Serbian state carrier Srbija Voz, the other for the Romanian private carrier Astra Trans Carpatic.

In both cases, these are single-floor electric units. Local media inform about the arrival of new trains. In the case of Serbia, for example, RTS, in Romania, the Economica.net server

For Serbia, this is the first unit to be delivered by CRRC Changchun. She arrived in the country by boat to the Slovenian Koper and then by land through Slovenia and Croatia. The order for the supply of new units was signed by the Serbian Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Goran Vesič last October. The four-car unit has a capacity of 242 seats, of which 45 are in first class. Like the Stadler Kiss units delivered earlier, they will run under the name Soko (falcon) on the line from Belgrade to the city of Novi Sad, which has been upgraded to 200 km/h.

The Chinese train manufacturer ran away from European control, giving up the competition for new units to Bulgaria

The three-car SFEMU units are being purchased in Romania by Astra Trans Carpatic, a private carrier. The manufacturer is CRRC Sifang. He wants to deploy them on the line Bucharest – Brasov – Constanta. But it must meet certification according to European standards.

CRRC has been trying to break into the European market for several years with mixed success.
