Doosan is investing three billion in Pilsen, it wants to manufacture new generators there

“We have decided to transfer to the Czech Republic the technology for the production of air-cooled steam turbine generators for supply to power plants and small modular reactors so that the Czech industry can significantly participate in the projects of the Doosan group in the world markets,” said the director of Doosan Enerbility Power Service Business Group Seungwoo Sohn.

According to him, the center of hydrogen combustion turbines in Europe will bring more jobs and place the Czech Republic among the few manufacturers in the world.

In Pilsen, it also wants to support the production of steam turbines for small modular reactors and gas turbines with an output of 100 MW, which is currently under development.

The company is a partner of KHNP, which, together with the French EDF, is participating in a tender for the completion of up to four nuclear units. Both interested parties have already submitted bids and a decision on the preferred bidder should be made approximately halfway through the year.

“As a strong partner of KHNP, we are coming to the Czech Republic to support its activities in the tender for the completion of the Dukovany nuclear power plant. If it wins this important order for the Czech and Korean industry, the turbine for the secondary island, one of the main equipment of the nuclear power plant, will be supplied by the Czech company Doosan Škoda Power,” said the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Doosan Group Jeongwon Park.

“We are ready to deliver the most modern generation of steam turbines in the required performance. Among other things, we have the best reference in the Czech Republic. For over twenty years, our turbine has ensured the safe operation of the Temelín Nuclear Power Plant. I would like to emphasize that our technology is proven, easily transportable and above all we are able to provide immediate service directly from the Czech Republic,” said Doosan Škoda Power operations director Daniel Procházka.

The company in Prague in Žofín is organizing the Czech-Korean industrial partnership Doosan Partnership Day on Monday. The group signed cooperation agreements with the Czech companies Vítkovice, ZAT, Škoda JS and MICO, for example for the production of heat exchangers or auxiliary equipment for nuclear power plants.

We anticipated the expansion of the nuclear tender, says the vice president of the South Korean KHNP
