We doubt that more than a few people in a hundred will remember that this car was ever made. It is a rarity in general, and in Europe it is a complete rarity. His offer here is all the more interesting, it combines properties that were not and are not available.
If you like cars that connect the seemingly unrelated worlds of enthusiastic drivers and responsible fathers of families, then it’s time to recalculate your savings. In Spain, one of the rare ideals of passionate drivers with families has appeared on sale, raising their eyebrows at the trends of recent years leading to the minimization of engine volumes and the general shift of these cars towards mediocrity. Someone in Spain bought a sharp version of one of the Cadillacs in the estate version, of which only two thousand were sold worldwide.
It is a Cadillac CTS-V Wagon, a car forgotten in Europe, which hides under the sharp edges of its body a supercharged V8 from the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 with a monstrous volume of 6.2 liters. Indeed, the giant unit offers an output of up to 415 kW (564 hp) at 6,100 rpm and a maximum torque of 747 Nm at 3,800 rpm, which can be directed to the rear wheels even through a six-speed manual transmission. In this case, there is an automatic transmission in the guts of the car, even so it is an exceptional work from 2013 with an acceptable mileage of 149 thousand km.
Something so rare naturally doesn’t come cheap – 45,000 euros is about 1.1 million CZK, which is really not little for a 9-year-old car that drove around 15,000 km a year. Still, it’s hard to look at this car and not laugh mischievously, it’s a seriously wild machine in a wild guise, which will do all the ordinary moving. And with his black color, he can successfully pretend he can’t do more than that.
The salvation of wild conservatives inside offers a classic instrument panel without digital fads, modern times are reminded only by a slide-out infotainment display above a panel full of control buttons for automatic air conditioning and Bose sound system. The non-touch screen projects what is happening behind the rear bumper, the rest of the time the satellite navigation can shine into your eyes. The equipment included electric opening of the fifth door and a couple of driving assistants.
Extras are not important, the main specification is noteworthy. It is surprising that something like this was even produced and could be bought in Europe. It’s a shame that it’s not a version with a manual gearbox, an almost 600-horsepower station wagon with a manual was taboo even on the old continent at the time. It is a great rarity for sale on the old continent anyway and if you are interested in this car we would contact the private owner from Madrid as soon as possible. We suspect that it won’t stay on the menu for long.
The black Cadillac CTS-V station wagon with a turbocharged 6.2 V8 engine and rear-wheel drive is a fascinating machine in its own way. You might not even have thought that something like this could be officially bought in Europe seven years ago. Photo: AR, published with permission
