Mr. Dvok came across such a suitable investment offer on the Internet that he couldn’t resist. He entered his phone number on the page to which the ad directed him and waited for the investment advisor to call him back. And soon someone really called. Mr. Dvok followed the instructions, including downloading the necessary remote management app and then logging into his online banking. However, the investment advisers turned out to be fraudsters, they took out a loan of 1.5 million crowns in his name from his bank and immediately transferred the money to others.

This is the real life of the SOB client, of course the bank will not disclose his real name. We are working to save the client’s money, but it is not at all certain whether we will succeed, said Patrik Madle from SOB, adding: it was a very long-winded fraud, unfortunately, with the vision of an easy and quick loan, people lose their sharpness.

The Czech Banking Association confirms that the flow of money to bank clients has increased dramatically over the past two years. the codes run into hundreds of millions of crowns, on average it is 161,500 crowns for one damaged client.

Online trit and vishing

A lot of scams are going on online tritch. Internet bazaars are popular, you can look through the profiles of sellers and buyers and feel safe and secure. Unfortunately, it is often a matter of a feeling of being fake, behind which there are subtle frauds, warns Eduarda Hekov, editor of the consumer organization dTest.

For example, the tax buyer proposes to make the payment using the service of the carrier, often with the name of secured transaction, or until the payment of the additional tax. The problem is that it is often a fictitious service.

Under the mention of such a payment, the fraudster invites the seller to click on the sent online link to a website that visually imitates the website of the shipping company. To click on the link of the manufacturer, there is a form for registering a payment card for transferring money and filling in addresses. The seller is happy that the deal went so quickly. Clem is a fraud, but she steals bank and other sensitive information with the help of this link, Hekov explains the principle of fraud.

Sometimes it even happens that the buyer has a link in the field where the seller should fill in his bank details so that he can receive the pension. Someone puts a deed in their banking account on the basis of such an instruction. However, do not realize that this is a fictitious website, which only pretends to be their banking system and instead of secure payment, the client is actually going through classic phishing, confirms the experience of Air bank client Roman Machek.

And there was one phishing stream that took place this year. On behalf of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, the Czech Republic and the Financial Administration sent SMS to clients at first with a tax payment sent. It has been stated that for samples you can click on the link in the text first. They were then asked to fill in their security details and confirm their access to internet banking and subsequently authorize the payment. Thinking that it is a payment in transit, however, the fraudster has robbed them of their money, warns Petr Zma, a security expert at esk spoiteln.

A favorite scene is also the so-called vishing, i.e. voice stream. We have seen cases when the perpetrator calls the client, pretending to be an employee of his bank, NB or even a member of the police, and tells him that his bank account has been hacked and that he will help him save his pension. The only thing needed for this is access to internet banking or payment cards, adds Zma.

How to cheat armor

This is why it is necessary to be cautious. The most important thing is to realize that the only one who can stop me from cheating is you. You should never share your internet banking credentials, payment card number, or confirmation code from SMS messages and notifications to anyone.
