She started Tinder to convince men to buy a popular video game

The more time we spend in the virtual worlds (not only) of social networks, the harder it seems to find a partner with whom we will want to spend time in the real world. The demands on others keep increasing, while the desire to compromise decreases, so many young, beautiful and successful people live “single” today.

NieR: Automata is much more than just a simple thresher. However, you must meet her.

This is also the reason why tens of millions of them turn on the Tinder application every month, which simplifies the dating process to the maximum.

According to the specified attributes, it simply connects the personal profile with all suitable people in the vicinity, and in the event that both of them, based on a shared affection for animals and travel (people, seriously, can’t you have something more interesting there?) by a simple movement of your finger on the phone screen, express mutual sympathy, the application will allow them to communicate with each other.

And then it’s up to them…

Ideal for a casual sexual adventure, in the case of visiting a foreign city you sometimes get free guide services in locations not busy with tourists, but as a means of seriously meeting your life partner, Tinder is no better than other forms of internet dating. The user, acting under the nickname Jenny09410602, saw this for herself.

@DrakeNierTweets I used to roam around on Tinder and get guys to buy Nier Automata and then ghost them. I think my count was up to 22 when I stopped. I mean I never said I’d fuck with them I mostly just talked a lot about it and recommended the game. Also high sales mean more Taro Games

A profile picture arouses desire in men. Unfortunately, not the ones she wanted.

A big fan of NieR: Automata (you can read about its deep philosophical undertones in our article), she couldn’t find anyone around her who shared her passion, so she tried to find him using the mentioned dating app. Unfortunately in vain.

The games have sold millions of copies, but it’s definitely not a mainstream thing, so most of the contacts that were made appreciated that she was a pretty girl with a taste for nerd culture, rather than a passion for this particular cult smash-and-grab shooter.

However, Jenny was so persistent in recommending it that she is said to have convinced 22 men over the course of several years to try it (it should be noted that it is an older game, which is also available in a Game Pass subscription, so it does not require a large investment). According to the subsequent conversation, at least one of them actually finished NieR: Automata (there is an even older NieR: Replicant, see our review).

Not exactly the usual gear you’d expect from a Tinder match.

It’s not hard to see why that was, the main character 2B is one of the sexiest female characters in the history of video games, and her sexy costume can be bought on AliExpress for just a few hundred.

All established contacts, without exception, were ultimately so-called ghosted by Jenny, i.e. that after buying the game she ended all communication with them without further explanation.

“A lot of them couldn’t appreciate the game like I did, and when I wanted to deal with the details, they just said that it’s a great game, but they don’t know what to talk about,” Jenny revealed her reasons in an interview with Kotaku magazine reporters .

They are said to have seen enough evidence to prove that the young woman is not making things up, including photos sent by male counterparts and records of communications. In today’s internet age, of course, practically nothing can be trusted anymore, at least the fact that the story was shared on his profile by the eccentric creator of the game, Yoko Taro, indicates that it is more than just an ordinary urban story.

And how does Jenny defend her not-so-ethical behavior? Purely pragmatic: “More sales means more Taro games.”

Why not, passionate fans do weirder things to support their favorite games. After all, the profile photo is probably the last argument I haven’t used yet in promoting the genius of The Last of Us 2. The question is, however, whether it would not be rather counterproductive.
