The Czech region received more than two billion from REACT-EU

--

The coronavirus pandemic that swept the world three years ago reminded us that it is necessary to use and prepare. In December 2020, the European Commission adopted a policy that created the European Cohesion Assistance Program, referred to by the English acronym REACT-EU.

The program supports investment projects that strengthen the capacities of the Polish states to recover from the crisis and contribute to a green and resilient economy. Thanks to money from REACT-EU, the Czech Republic will prepare the elites for new threats. From a total of 100 billion crowns, 10 billion Czech crowns were allocated. In the Czech region, the aid of the European Union secured a project for no more than two billion crowns from EU funds.

REACT-EU also supported Krajsk zdravot as projects, which represented 76% of the total funds earmarked for the municipality.

Thanks to this, for example, the creation of a new pavilion on Severn Terrace in the grounds of the Masaryk Hospital in st nad Labem, as well as the construction of a new emergency pavilion, including operating rooms and intensive care units, as well as a new pavilion with emergency reception in the Chomutov Hospital. The rest of the building should be completed by the end of 2023.

Investment of such a scale would be impossible without European money, confirms Petr Mal, general editor of Krajsk zdravot. According to him, funds from REACT-EU are used to prepare for an emergency situation, while the goal of the operator of regional hospitals is to provide patients with the highest quality healthcare in line with the most modern trends of the 21st century.

The project also includes equipment and laboratory equipment for the regional hospital, including the renovation and additional equipment of the Comprehensive Oncology Center at the Steck Hospital. Last August, in Chomutov, they put into operation a PET device for positron emission tomography, which is the second in the region above Elbe and allows oncology patients to reduce the risk of death.

The European program also fights Alzheimer’s

One of the projects is the construction of three community houses in Krabice na Litomick. With the support of over 96 million crowns, the Diakonie eskobratrsk church evangelical has built twenty-one housing units. People with chronic mental illness, especially Alzheimer’s disease, will find a home in them.

The center in Krabice has been operating since 1998. Community housing in small groups is a model that maximizes the use of the natural environment to support the independence of service users, explains editor and chairman of the board Ale Gabrysz. According to him, living in a community makes it possible to dream of pharmacotherapy, while on the other hand, without adequate support, the symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease worsen.

Diakonie is a co-founder of the Alzheimer Society. Specialized pi has been provided here since the time when the disease was known as enough dementia. We took a different view of our client’s behavior and created the first department with a different approach, said the editor. First, the fact that people live here even in small groups is mentioned as the reason why the coronavirus did not spread as quickly here as in large homes.

According to Alea Gabrysze, REACT-EU is an essential source of finance. Without him, we would not be able to carry out our tasks at all, k.

The non-profit organization is trying to keep the operation as low as possible: years ago, they modernized the boiler room with the installation of solar heating and replaced the entire house with traditional lighting for LEDs – the disputes already half paid for the reconstruction of the boiler room and completely replaced the light.
