Wednesday’s play-off of the 22nd round of the regional championship between the home side FK Okula Nýrsko and the visitors from Holýš did not produce a winner in the end. An interesting match, in which the best scorers of both teams prevailed, ended in a 1:1 draw on the pitch near the border with Germany. The visitors took the lead thanks to a penalty shot by gunner Václav Šperl, but striker Imrich Varga equalized for the Nirš team in the 72nd minute, who promptly tapped the ball into the empty goal.

Okula scored her seventh draw of the spring, but the point gain was enough for her to become independent in fourth place in the table (one point ahead of Lhota). Holýšov remains in twelfth place in the competition table. “It was misery from our side. We were on the ball more often, but we didn’t succeed in transitioning into attack, so all actions ended with a bad pass, or we didn’t even get to the goal,” lamented Nýrska footballer Martin Bastl. “Vargič (Imrich Varga) had our biggest chance in the first half, but he burned out on the opponent’s goalkeeper. The penalty for the guests was quite clear, we have nothing to be surprised about,” acknowledged the youngster.

The footballers of Nýrsk had to catch up, and they finally succeeded. The equalizer was brought by Imrich Varga in the 72nd minute, who scored on goalkeeper Zach for the second time. “In the second half, we pressured the opponent, from which we scored at least one goal, although we also created other chances. A loss for us, a nice and important point for the guests,” added Martin Bastl, who played about 20 minutes after the injury.
