On Thursday, the regional court in Olomouc decided on the punishment for a senior citizen who shot an operator during a robbery of a gambling hall last May. The woman fought for her life for ten long months, but she died in March this year. The man received a life sentence.
Recidivist Adolf Hlubik will spend the rest of his life in prison. This was decided by the Regional Court in Olomouc on Thursday, which sentenced the man to the fact that he shot the attendant during the robbery of the local gambling hall last May.
The man was supposed to enter the gaming room on May 20 last year and tell the attendant: “Honey, roll 20 thousand or you’re dead. That’s what I’m telling you.” After the fight, the woman sat on a chair and the man was supposed to shoot. A shot from less than a meter hit the woman in the head.
In court, the 73-year-old Hlubik defended himself by saying that he has poor vision and problems with walking. As a result, he thought he hit the shoulder. He said he didn’t want to aim for the head. After leaving the game room, he was supposed to throw the revolver in the bushes near the University of Olomouc.
But this is not the first time the man has gone behind bars. He has already served 48 years of his life in prison, including for the murder in 1983, when he beat fellow inmates with a hammer. Unfortunately, the story of the shot woman does not have a happy ending either. She spent the next ten months in the hospital fighting for her life. But she lost the fight in March of this year.
The regional court started dealing with the case on Wednesday. Watch the report:
