The incident took place on Saturday, October 28, before two o’clock in the afternoon. At the traffic lights of Kunratická and Jablonecká streets, a pedestrian spat at a white Audi A3 that was waiting for a green light.
“The driver, who wanted to ask about the reason for this action, drove off after the pedestrian and stopped in Kunratická Street. Instead of answering, however, the man spat on the car again and hit the driver twice in the face and stabbed him in the chest with a knife,” says police spokeswoman Klára Jeníčková.
Paramedics took the injured driver to the Regional Hospital in Liberec. The police did not say if they arrested the aggressor or if they are still looking for him. They did not specify whether they know his identity.

“We will accept all testimonies, starting with the stopping of vehicles at the traffic light intersection of Kunratická and Jablonecká streets to the actual physical attack. At the same time, we will accept records from the on-board cameras of the cars that recorded the event,” adds the spokesperson. Witnesses can report on line 158 or at the Liberec – Vápenka office.
A similar case took place in March of this year in Blovice in the Pilsen region. During a street dispute in which four men were involved, Jiří Pelc stabbed one of them in the chest with a knife. The court sentenced him to 13 years in prison.
