Czech government adviser for national security Tomáš Pojar met today in Beijing with the highest-ranking Chinese diplomat Wang I, the state news agency Nová Chína wrote. According to her, Wang said that Beijing is ready to strengthen “mutually beneficial” cooperation with the Czech Republic.
The report does not mention any specific areas of bilateral cooperation. They only interpret Wang’s words about “joint development” or the need to abide by “political commitments” and respect each other’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
According to New China, Pojar said that the Czech Republic is ready to develop relations with China and strengthen communication, among other things, in connection with Russia’s war against Ukraine. According to the Chinese agency, he also assured that the Czech government continues to recognize the one-China policy.
Pojar’s meeting with Wang came just a few days after the Chinese representative’s trip to the US, during which he also held talks with US President Joe Biden.
