Meeting of KSH representative teams with the governor of the Pilsen region

On Tuesday, October 31, it took place in the social hall of SOU electrotechnic Plzeň a meeting of the governor of the Pilsen region with representatives of fire sports from among volunteer and professional firefighters. Individuals and teams of firefighters received awards for representing the Pilsen Region at the Czech Republic Championship.

“Often the work of firefighters is perceived as ordinary, we take it for granted that they are at serious traffic accidents, helping in floods or other natural disasters. We do not realize that they are both professionals and SDH members who work with children in their free time, they help with prevention. I really appreciate their work and they have my admiration for what they do for the rest of us.” says Governor Rudolf Špoták, who, together with the director of HZS PK František Pavlas and the mayor of KSH PK Josef Černý, thanked the successful firefighters, together they presented the representatives with a letter of thanks and an award.

Young firefighters SDH Horní Hradiště district Plzeň – north

The collective of young firefighters from Horní Hradiště represented the Pilsen Region at the MČR Flame Games on June 24-25, 2023 in Nové Jičín. While performing the individual disciplines, he successively took 2nd place in the CTIF fire attack, 6th place in the CTIF relay, 3rd place in the pairs relay, 4th place in the 4 x 60 meter relay and 11th place in the fire attack. Overall, the team of young firefighters from Horní Hradiště took 3rd place at the MČR Flame Games. The Horní Hradiště volunteer fire brigade was founded in 1930 and currently has 75 members, of which 17 are young firefighters under the age of 14.

Teenage girls of SDH Úněšov district Plzeň – north

The group of teenage girls from Úněšov represented the Pilsen region at the MČR dorost on July 1, 2023 in Domažlice. While performing individual disciplines, he successively took 4th place in the 100-meter hurdles, 4th place in the 4 x 100-meter relay and 2nd place in the fire attack. Overall, the team of teenage girls from Úněšov took 2nd place at the MČR dostrot. The Úněšov Volunteer Fire Brigade was founded in 1899, and currently has 87 members, of which 39 are young firefighters under the age of 14.

Teenagers of SDH Dobřany district Plzeň – south

The team of teenagers from Dobřany represented the Plzeň region at the Youth Championship of the Czech Republic on July 2, 2023 in Domažlice. While performing individual disciplines, he successively took 6th place in the 100-meter hurdles, 4th place in the 4 x 100-meter relay and 9th place in the fire attack. Overall, the team of teenagers from Dobřany took 4th place at the MČR youth competition. Only one point separated them from third place. The Dobřany volunteer fire brigade was founded in 1936, and currently has 71 members, of which 12 are adolescents under 18 years of age and 22 are men.

As part of the MČR for adolescents in Domažlice, the Pilsen region was represented by individuals in the category of adolescents:

Middle teenage girl category

Barbora Novotná from SDH Brod na Tichou District Tachov took 2nd place in individual disciplines in the 100m run with a portable fire extinguisher and 5th place in the 100m hurdles run. Overall, Barbora Novotná took 4th place.

Older category

Anna Umnerová from SDH Dobřany, district of Plzeň – South, won 1st place in individual disciplines in the 100m run with a portable fire extinguisher and 1st place in the 100m hurdles run. Overall, Anna Umnerová took 1st place by a large margin and became the champion of the Czech Republic.

Women SDH Chválenice Plzeň district – south

The women’s team from Chválenice represented the Pilsen Region at the M CR in Fire Sports on August 24-26, 2023 in Sokolov. in the individual disciplines, he took 1st place in the 100m hurdles, 1st place in the 4 x 100m relay and 11th place in the fire attack, which deprived them of 3rd place overall, and the women from Chválenice took 4th place overall. The Chválenice volunteer fire brigade was founded in 1892, currently it has 75 members, of which 24 are women.

Men SDH Dobřany district Plzeň – south

The men’s team from Dobřany represented the Pilsen Region at the MČR in Fire Sports on August 24-26, 2023 in Sokolov. While performing individual disciplines, he successively took 4th place in the 100m hurdles, 1st place in the 4 x 100m relay and first place in the fire attack.

Overall, the men from Dobřany took 1st place and thus became the champions of the Czech Republic in fire sports. The volunteer fire brigade of Dobřany was founded in 1936, currently it has 71 members, of which 22 are men over 18 years of age

Men of JSDHO Zbiroh district Rokycany – extrication in traffic accidents

The men’s team from Zbiroh represented the Pilsen Region at the MČR in Traffic accident recovery in Liberec on September 2, 2023. The team took 4th place overall with a loss of only three points to third place. The Zbiroh Volunteer Fire Brigade was founded in 1881 and currently has 73 members, of which 29 are men over 18 years of age. The number of members in the SDH unit of the village is 19.

Cooperative of HZS Pilsen region

The collective of HZS PLK made up of members of ÚO Plzeň and ÚO Domažlice represented the Pilsen region at the MČR in fire sports on August 24-26, 2023 in Sokolov. In the individual disciplines, he took 4th place in the 100 m run, 5th place in the tower climb, 2nd place in the 4 x 100 m relay and 6th place in the fire attack. He finished 4th overall in a tie for 3rd place, with the fire attack deciding.

Cooperative HZS ÚO Rokycany

The HZS Rokycany team represented the Pilsen Region at the Championship of the Slovak Republic in rescuing injured persons from crashed vehicles. It was an international competition in which 8 regional winners from Slovakia and two representatives from the Czech Republic took part. The HZS Rokycany team won 2nd place.

Pavel Kouřík – member of the Domažlice ÚO

He represented the Pilsen region at the MČR in TFA disciplines on September 14, 2023 in Olomouc and became the absolute winner of the Czech TFA championship for 2023. He won the most prestigious category A, in which firefighters from 18 to 34 compete. He climbed the run of 315 steps in 1 minute and 40 seconds.

On October 2, 2023, in the Spanish Hall of the Prague Castle, as part of the ceremonial announcement of the Sportsman of the Ministry of the Interior 2023 poll, he was declared the best athlete from among the firefighters.

Aleš Presl – member of the ÚO Domažlice

He represented at the 2023 World Police and Fire Games in Winnipeg, Canada, in volleyball in a team made up of representatives from various regions of the Czech Republic.

They fought for second place when they narrowly lost to the Polish national team in a tiebreak in the final.
