From the first of November each year, the winter maintenance of highways and Class I roads officially begins. Outdoor temperatures remain above zero for now, but signs of winter have appeared locally, activating the dispatchers of the ŘSD CR and contracted companies. Inspection drives have already taken place this year, while the plows have not yet been deployed.
Winter maintenance of the ŘSD ČR in the Olomouc and Moravian-Silesian regions crosses the regional borders in accordance with the determined routes of the technical scope, the marked spreader sections do not end at the administrative borders. These centers of the ŘSD CR have more than 23,000 tons of salt available for this year’s winter maintenance, usually purchased in the summer at a lower price. In addition to full warehouses, SSÚD parks 46 spreaders with plows, 12 loaders and 4 snow blowers.
