The winter season at the Pilsen Zoo traditionally starts in November and lasts until February. Operational changes are associated with the new season.
“Since November 1, the operation of the zoo has changed, especially in terms of opening hours. The gates are open to visitors from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., the ticket office is open until 4:30 p.m. It is open daily,” points out Martin Vobruba, spokesman for the Pilsen Zoo.
The changes also apply to DinoPark. “Even the falconry shows, the sightseeing train and the DinoPark are out of order.” the spokesman added.
What’s new at the zoo?
In the past few days, this year’s lion cubs were baptized and allowed into the large enclosure. The report from the christening can be found HERE.
When visiting the zoo, definitely do not miss the novelty at the Česká river. The Fish Ark aquarium exhibition was opened at the Lüftnerka estate in the neighborhood of the Česká řeka exhibition. The one in a room full of freshwater aquariums shows smaller endangered fish from all continents of the world.
A modernized enclosure for chimpanzees was also ceremonially opened in the Pilsen zoo in September. They have a lot of new elements for frolicking in the paddock, visitors can watch them undisturbed across the moat. We wrote HERE.
Be sure to go see the red panda cub that was born in June. We wrote about the birth of the panda cut HERE.
What is the zoo planning for winter?
So, for example, on December 2, the Zoo will host a Creative Workshop at the Lüftnerka farm on the theme of decorating Advent wreaths. You can also look forward to December 9, when the bears will hibernate. There will also be an afternoon with devils or a live nativity scene.
