Another warning applies for part of Moravia and Silesia, heavy rain will hit the Czech Republic


In the Jeseníky, Rychlebské and Orlické mountains and in the Králické Sněžník mountain range, it will rain heavily on Friday and Saturday night, and it will also snow in the highest parts. Heavy rainfall can slightly raise the levels of the rivers that drain these mountainous areas.

They can reach the first, i.e. the lowest level of flood activity. This follows from the current warning of the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute (ČHMÚ).

Overall, in mountainous areas in the north-east of the republic, more than 50 millimeters of water can fall in 24 hours. “Precipitation will later change to snow in the highest parts of the named mountain ranges and gradually stop,” they said meteorologists. According to them, heavy rainfall may slightly raise river levels.

Alert on heavy rain valid from Friday morning to Saturday 03:00 a.m. for the regions of Dobruška and Rychnov nad Kněžnou in the Hradec Králové region, Králíky and Žamberk in the Pardubice region, Jesenicko and Šumpersko in the Olomouc region and the surroundings of Bruntál, Krnov and Rýmařov in the Moravian-Silesian region.
