Sigma has not won in Jablonec for eighteen years. Then the Brazilian Melinho was on fire

--

Sigma Olomouc football players lost in the last two FORTUNA:LIGA duels against teams from the bottom of the table. Now the fourteenth Jablonec awaits them. However, the Hanáci do not collect too many points at the Shooting Range.

The team of coach Václav Jílek will visit the unpopular stadium on Saturday. The last time Sigma won in Jablonec was in 2005, when the Brazilian duo Melinho, Gaúcho managed their 2:1 victory. Players such as Radim Kučera, Michal Kovář and the current goalkeeper coach Tomáš Lovásik were also on the field at that time.

Since then, however, Olomouc has lost thirteen times and drawn three times out of sixteen matches in Jablonec. They also brought a point from the north last season for a 2:2 draw, when they were already losing 0:2, and in the last ten minutes Chytil and Beneš made their mark in the set-up.

Jablonec is led by former player and coach of Sigma Olomouc Radek Látal. However, he is not having an ideal season yet. His team is only fourteenth, but the last time they won was on the field of Baník Ostrava.

“The apple tree is rising at the moment. We respect that, but we want to succeed. It’s not just a question of the last game for them. We saw their match in Pilsen, where they did not play badly at all and it was their springboard. Although they lost the following home match against Bohemka, they were significantly better. According to all statistics and indicators, they should have taken three points. They have already shown improved performance there. In Baník, he confirmed it in terms of results,” says Sigma Olomouc coach Václav Jílek.

However, the North Bohemians have the second worst offensive after Teplice. In thirteen matches, they scored only eleven goals and their best scorer is Jan Chramosta with three goals.

The fourth Sigma, after a draw with Pardubice, did not beat the last Zlín at home. However, for the match in Jablonec, Jan Vodháněl returns after a one-match suspension. In addition, he will be able to use the new reinforcement of Filip Novák in the match.

“After a long time, the vast majority of the staff is in good health. Players who had minor health problems are more or less back in full training. Only Tonda Růsek and Denis Kramář are currently out of matches. It is up to us to always choose the best, taking into account the opponent and our chosen tactics, in order to be successful,” concluded Jílek.

Among the former players of Hanák, David Houska can run on the field for the opponent, and goalkeeper Vilém Fendrich is also in the squad. On the other hand, the measurement of strength will be interesting for Víto Beneš and Martin Pospíšil, who played in Jablonec. The duel, in which Sigma will try to break the series and defend the fourth position, starts on Saturday at 3 p.m.
