The largest high school fair in the Czech Republic returns to the Prague Congress Center after a year. From November 23 to 25 this year, the 28th edition of the Schola Pragensis fair will take place, where pupils and their parents will be presented with more than a hundred selected vocational schools, secondary schools and gymnasiums from all over Prague. Entry to the event is free for all participants.
On three floors full of school stands, you can meet older pupils or future teachers who will introduce their school in detail and will gladly answer all your questions. In this way, Schola Pragensis helps tens of thousands of children every year with choosing the right secondary school. The event starts at 8:30 a.m. every day and runs until 6:00 p.m., except for Saturday, when it only runs until 3 p.m. The event takes place in cooperation with the Prague municipality, which establishes most of the secondary schools in the metropolis.
The Schola Pragensis mobile application will help visitors to better orient themselves in the premises of the Congress Center, which, in addition to the schedule of the fair, also offers a complete catalog of all Prague secondary schools, a professional test to determine a suitable field of study or instructional videos for choosing a school. Choosing the right school is especially important this year. Current ninth graders will be able to apply to up to three secondary schools, but they will have to rank them according to their preferences. It is the order of schools on the application form that can be crucial for a child’s future.
Applications for secondary school studies can be submitted until February 20, 2024, but choosing a school must not be delayed. Choosing a future professional focus at the age of 15 is certainly not an easy task, as many children at this age are not clear on what they would like to do in their lives.
In general, it is also important to focus on what the child enjoys and what his strengths or talents are when choosing the right secondary school. The Schola Pragensis fair will help you with this, where you can get to know a large number of study fields offered by Prague secondary schools.
