Seismographs in western Bohemia measured tremors with a magnitude of over three degrees, which is the most so far in the current wave of tremors. Such force can be felt, but does not cause any damage.

After a long time, the tremors appeared already on Wednesday. Since then, until Saturday morning, the strongest tremor was on Friday, which reached 2.6 degrees. Such earthquakes can be felt by a person as a weak tremor.

Snow fell in the Czech Republic, in some places up to 10 centimeters fell. But we won’t enjoy the snow for very long

Saturday’s earthquake with a magnitude of 3.25 was the strongest so far. It took place before 1 p.m. north of Lubu at a depth of 9.28 kilometers. In addition to shaking, these weaker tremors are typically also accompanied by rumbling.

The Institute of Geophysics of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic informed about it, which at the same time shared a photo on the X platform showing the places where the tremors occurred.

Since Wednesday, a few more weaker earthquakes have appeared in Chebsk. Such seismic activity has the character of an earthquake swarm. This means that the seismic energy is released in a series of large numbers (up to several thousand) of weaker events over a time horizon of several days to months instead of being released in the form of one strong earthquake and its eventual aftershocks.
