An exceptional situation that calls for an extraordinary solution. Saturday’s match of the men’s handball team with Bosnia and Herzegovina is canceled at the last minute. The Balkan unit was stopped on the way to the Czech Republic by a storm that canceled all nearby flights in the rival country. The opponent traveled by bus in order to be ready to play at least Sunday’s game in Brno.

The representatives of Bosnia and Herzegovina were supposed to arrive in the Moravian capital on Friday, but the unfavorable weather in their country caused the cancellation of all nearby flights. “Despite the very intensive cooperation of both associations in the search for alternative transport options, it was not possible to find a solution in which the visiting players would be ready to start the match with minimal risk of injury after a long journey of twelve to fourteen hours,” said the Czech association.

The opponent took the bus to be ready to play at least Sunday’s game. It will take place as planned from 1:00 p.m. in the Vodova hall in Brno.

“We apologize for the complications. Fans who bought tickets for Saturday’s duel will be contacted via e-mail regarding the return of the entrance fee. They can also take advantage of the open training of the national team with the game, which will of course be free of charge and will start on the original date of the match from 17 hours,” added the union.
