Jablonec nN – Jablonec footballers played 1:1 with Olomouc at home in the 14th league round. David Štěpánek gave the home team the lead in the fifth minute, but in the next 13 minutes, Hanák’s best scorer Lukáš Juliš equalized with his sixth goal in this year’s top competition. The North Bohemians scored their sixth draw in the league season, which is the most of all teams. Jablonečtí remained in 14th place in the incomplete table. Sigma jumped to third place, despite having only a draw for the third time in a row.
Olomouc coach Václav Jílek was disappointed with the result, but not with the performance. “We deserved to win. The team reacted very well to the stupid goal. We equalized during the half and had other chances. I don’t remember a clear chance from Jablonec,” said Jílek at the press conference.
“We take the point, a team that is good on the ball came to us, it’s no coincidence that they are on top. We scored a lucky goal, but rather it hurt us, we stopped playing,” said Jablonec coach Radoslav Látal, who led the team against a team in which spent part of his playing and coaching career, and still lives in Olomouc.
For the first time in this league season, Hanák’s defense was missing experienced stopper Beneš, who was sidelined by angina. Former national team defender Filip Novák, who signed a contract with Sigma on Friday, started only on the bench and still has to wait to return to the league after eight years. Attacker Chramosta returned to Jablonec’s starting line-up, who decided to win in Ostrava from a substitute position a week ago.
Slovakian goalkeeper Sigma Digaňa scored only one goal in the three league matches in which he replaced number one Macík, but today in the first action in Jablonec, Polidar’s cross ball fell out of his hands and Štěpánek immediately punished his mistake. It was only the second league goal for the right-back, after a break of more than three years. “Digi made a blunder, it’s his first blunder. I would rather encourage him for the way he finished the game,” said Jílek.
The home team continued to attack, but in the 18th minute, two players got after Breite’s cross because of their very advanced defense, and Juliš skillfully converted the offered chance. The Sigma forward ended his five-round shooting fast.
The guests then had more chances, the attack was significantly supported from the right side of the defense by Chvátal, playing his 100th league match. On the other hand, Chramost’s escapes ended in an offside trap. Captain Kratochvíl unnecessarily fouled the goalkeeper, received a yellow card for the fourth time in the season and will miss Jablonec in the next round.
In addition, the home team lost Polidar, who did not play in the second act after being hit in the head. “We had to regroup in the second half. Polidar was shaken, we are waiting for the results of the magnetic resonance. I hope he will be OK,” Látal said.
He did not understand some of the referee’s statements. “It’s incomprehensible to me that the referee doesn’t see the small house and Kratochvíl got the fourth yellow card when he didn’t even touch the opponent. It didn’t decide the match, but the referee should be able to handle this,” he remarked to the only 26-year-old referee Filip Kotala, who was in charge of his fifth league game wrestle.
The second half was much poorer in scoring opportunities. It was mostly played between sixteen players and if someone got a shot, it was very unsuccessful. Vodháněl from Olomouc was close to changing the score, but his quick shot from the turn was deflected by goalkeeper Hanuš. Zorvan beat him in the set-up, but defender Tekijaški kicked the ball out of the goal.
The match ended in a draw, just like the last mutual duel in the spring. The shooting range remains cursed for Sigma, they have not won there since 2005 in 16 league games.
Coaches’ votes after the game:
Radoslav Látal (Jablonec): “We take the point, a team that is good on the ball came to us, it’s not by chance that they’re on top. We scored a lucky goal, but it hurt us more, we stopped playing. We had to regroup in the second half. Polidar was shaken, we’re waiting for the results from the MRI. We made a mistake at the end, we played a risk. It was an even match, even though Sigma had more chances. It is incomprehensible to me that the referee does not see the small home and Kratochvíl received the fourth yellow card when he did not even touch the opponent . It didn’t decide the game, but the referee should be able to handle this.”
Václav Jílek (Olomouc): “I’m a little disappointed, not with the performance, but with the result. I think we deserved to win. In the fifth minute, we got a goal from the category of easy or stupid. Digi (Digaňa) made a gross mistake, it’s his first gross. I I would rather encourage him for the way he finished the game. The team reacted very well, we equalized at half-time. We also had other chances, from an overall point of view we were more dangerous. I don’t remember a clear chance from Jablonec. It was an honest, compact performance, but he was not crowned with the winning goal. Filip Novák is clearly ready, he is the left-footed stopper that we have been missing.”
