The pedestrian connection between Blažimská, Divišovská and Mírového hnutí streets by the Jedenáctka water world pool is closed. Children from this locality thus have a half kilometer longer journey to ZŠ Donovalská. Although the detour route is longer for citizens, it is safer. According to experts, the footpath was not only dangerous, but also illegal through private land. Prague 11 reported about it on social networks.
“The Skanska company started to build its development project on private land, and this closed the illegal passage of local residents through the construction site towards the public transport station or the Donovalská elementary school. The footpath cannot be legalized because it is in private hands – and there is a bypass route. The law is uncompromising in this regard. The duration of the construction work is currently set for two years,” explained Libor Vrkoč, councilor for transport (HPP 11).
However, negotiations on a shorter route to the public transport stop and children to school did not stop. “Negotiations are underway with the investor’s representative to resolve the situation with the aim of building a temporary sidewalk and allowing passage through the area until a new road and sidewalks perpendicular to Blažimská Street are built. I can see the result in a matter of weeks,” summed up councilor for property and investments and former mayor of Prague 11 Jiří Dohnal (Pirates).
