The Railway Administration informed about the current situation. Currently, the restoration work on the facade is being completed and the street side is being painted. They are working in the area of the main entrance to the station. The installation of windows is being completed, and the roof is being installed on the post office building. Demolition work at the entrance doors also began, and at the same time their production began. In the basement, the distribution of air conditioning and electrical installations are being adjusted.
“However, the largest volume of construction work is currently taking place on the 1st platform and its shelter. The boarding area has already been completed, and the first refurbished historic cast-iron columns for the platform roof have also been installed,” the Railway Administration states in a press release on the progress of the works. A video is part of the finished presentation. This indicates the transformation of the station.
The total investment costs of the first phase of construction reach 325 million crowns. The contractor is the company Chládek a Tintěra. The project is proposed to be co-financed by the European Union from the Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF).
