The pictures of whooping cranes are from 2020 and several of them are from 2011, when one young injured bird ended up in an animal rescue station in Pilsen and was then released in the Tachovsk region.

“With a bit of luck, these days you can see and especially hear a flock of these beautiful birds in the sky,” Karel Makoň, head of the animal rescue station in Pilsen, confirmed to Deník. He added that Jiří Lahoda from Domažlice was the first this year in the region to capture a flock of about fifty whooping cranes on Friday, November 3. near Chotěšov.
On Monday, November 6, a woman from Třemošná also saw them. Just as she called out to Makoňa, he heard their familiar and loud honking.
Chotěšov hosted pumpkin festivities. The children enjoyed the Halloween program
“I immediately searched the sky for their flight formation. I have them! Splendor! One, two, three flocks and another and another! Beautiful and there will be at least three hundred of them! Incredible experience and beauty! I even took a picture of the last flock,” he confided Makon and added that it looks like this year’s crane pull will be more pronounced than at any other time in years.
