Prague 10 has prepared a rich program for Advent. It will begin at the beginning of December with the lighting of the trees of primary and kindergarten schools. The Santa Claus menu will be served at six locations and there will also be a special Christmas concert.

Christmas trees will be lit across Praha 10, some of which will traditionally belong to kindergartens and elementary schools established by the town hall. The lighting of the schools’ Christmas trees will take place on Friday, December 1, from 4 p.m. in Kubánské náměstí. The pupils of ZUŠ Olešská are preparing their performance.

A row of Christmas trees will be lit up on Sunday 3rd December. The main tree of Prague 10 on Svatopluka Čecha square, the program will start at 6 p.m. The trees also light up after dark at the OC Oáza in Malešice. At OC Víl in Zahradní Město, in the Solidarita park in Skranáky, at the Strašnická metro station, at the Vršovicky castle or in Bohdalec at the intersection of Bohdalecká and Moskevská streets.

Local cultural institutions are preparing events for St. Nicholas. For example, on Sunday, December 3, Mikulášská with Vilík will take place in the BR theater, on Monday, December 4, the Strašnické divadlo is preparing a Mikulášská Old Bohemian offering, and on Tuesday, December 5, Mikulášská in Vzlet will take place.

The residents of Prague 10 will not miss the traditional pre-Christmas fish soup pouring in front of the Eden shopping center this year either. They can come to NC Eden on Saturday, December 23 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. for free hot refreshments.

At the end of the year, a New Year’s Eve weekend skating is planned in the Gutovka area. Those interested can come skate for free on December 30 from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. and on December 31 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
