Representatives of the foreign cooperation department of regional authorities across the Czech Republic met at a joint meeting in the Olomouc Region at the beginning of November. The South Moravian, Pardubice, Moravian-Silesian, Pilsen and Central Bohemian Regions were represented at the pilot year, as well as the capital city of Prague.
“The meeting provides a great space for finding common topics, different perspectives on their solutions, and also looking for inspiration across regions, because after all, we all strive for the same thing – to represent our regions and the entire Czech Republic as best as possible,” commented the governor of the Olomouc region, Josef Suchánek, during the welcome.
The two-day meeting offered space to discuss or exchange experiences in this work area. “For example, it was decided where to go in terms of foreign relations, which regions are pleasant to cooperate with, and also the possibility of presenting examples of successful and less successful projects. We will be very happy if the event becomes an annual affair to help the regions in their foreign agenda efforts.” said Milada Sokolová, a vacant member of the Olomouc Region Representative Office for external relations and tourism.
All participants presented their region and answered each other’s numerous questions about abroad. After intensive discussions, there was also an evening tour of Olomouc, where, as all participants confirmed, they would definitely like to return with their families.
