Construction companies continue to offer the state the construction of new highways significantly cheaper than what the designers estimate. Another example is today’s open bids from bidders for the completion of the D35 highway around Olomouc.
Eight bids were submitted to the competition for the Křelov – Slavonín section with an estimated price of 1.15 billion crowns, of which the cheapest was for 838 million crowns, i.e. 72% of the estimated value. The most favorable offer was submitted by the association Eurovia CS and M-Silnice, General Director of the Directorate of Roads and Highways Radek Mátl reported on the X social network.

The ŘSD is currently counting on the start of construction next year, and the preparation of the area is already underway. The building permit is already valid.
A total of 3.2 kilometers long section will bring the end of the bottleneck on the D35 highway, when it reached the Globus roundabout. The direct route was complicated by disputes over route management.
In 2008, for example, a petition was created by local citizens that demanded the diversion of the future highway route. Due to the change in the law, it was also necessary to repeat the complex process of environmental impact assessment (EIA) in 2018. The last section of the Olomouc highway bypass, the so-called western tangent, will connect the current end of the D35 in the direction of Mohelnice with the first stage of the bypass. The construction of the almost fifteen kilometer long southern part of the Olomouc bypass was completed in 2003.
