For Dynamo, the key match started like a bad dream. It was only the sixth minute when, after Juklo’s pass and Trubač’s unsuccessful shot, the ball reached the completely free Vachousek on the back post and he did not hesitate – 0:1.
Dynamo threatened three minutes later, but goalkeeper Grigar was at the post in time after the cooperation of Alli and Adediran. In an attempt to equalize, the South Czechs then exerted pressure and had signs of chances, but in the 17th minute Sladký kicked from an angle, then after Adediran’s fall, Čermák shot just wide from the penalty spot and in the 29th minute. he just missed the open goal of the visitors Hellebrand by inches. Dynamo was clearly in control of the game at this stage of the match, however, at the break the score still read 0:1.
The second half was opened by a questionable tackle, which occurred in the guests’ penalty area after Sladký’s cross on Adedirana, but VAR did not reveal the penalty. In the 57th minute, Čermák ran into a great chance, but missed Grigar’s goal. A quarter of an hour before the end, after a long Teplice kick-off, substitute Jásir ran alone to Dynamo’s goal.
That was a completely unique moment after half, Dynamo’s pressure was overwhelming at times. But in the 74th minute, Suchan shot over the Teplice goal from twelve meters, two minutes later, Grigar did not keep Hellebrand’s hard shot from behind the goal, but Skalák’s shot was covered by the Teplice goalkeeper. And because one minute before the end of the playing time, Sladký did not direct his shot from the volley between the three posts, Dynamo footballers had to bite another very bitter pill on their home field after the loss against Pardubice.
Coaches’ votes after the game:
Marek Nikl (České Budějovice): “We made the match difficult by conceding very early, which helped Teplice. They could have focused more on defense. But on the other hand, our performance was very good and the only thing missing was a goal. Now we have a national team break and then a tough draw before the winter break, but we believe we can succeed and get points. I personally don’t mind the fact that we dropped to last place. The competition is played, we’re only halfway through and there are still a lot of games to go.”
Zdenko Frťala (Teplice): “Today’s win will definitely calm us down before the international break. We realize that almost all our wins in the league have been 1-0. When we scored a goal in the sixth minute, we wondered if it was too early, because at that time there was a lot. We knew the strength of the home team and our defense only confirmed that the low number of goals conceded was not a coincidence. Although there were a lot of jams in front of our goal in the game, we managed to block a lot of shots. For the players, three points are a reward for not conceding a single one fight and go for blood in every dramatic match. In the second half we wanted to play quick counter-attacks and we had two or three chances to score a goal.”
