One of the most unpleasant duels in the Czech league awaits Slavia Prague on Sunday. At the Andrová Stadium in Olomouc, even the staunch players play a difficult game, and Slavia’s coach Jaroslav Köstl knows this very well.
Last season, Slavia presented itself twice in Olomouc. And in both cases, the match did not start well at all.
In October, the home team took the lead thanks to Jiří Sláma’s goal, in the second half Mojmír Chytil, who is already stitched up, made it 2:0. Despite huge chances, Slavia could not score a goal and left Olomouc with a defeat.
In the superstructure, the stapling began even worse. Chvátal put Sigma in the lead in the second minute, Zifčák added a second goal in the sixth minute and it was 2:0 again.
But this time Slavia was able to take control, Jureček equalized with two goals before halftime, after the change of sides Lingr decided.
“The games are tricky there, we experienced it last year when we were 2-0 down after the tenth minute. In the end, we struggled to turn the heat, so going into the match will be hugely important for us. I believe we will set ourselves up correctly to succeed there,” said assistant coach Jaroslav Köstl for the club’s website.
“It is important for Olomouc that the team has long-term coaches who do a great job. This is confirmed in this season as well, even though they have a slump in results now, so they are staying in the upper levels of the table. It’s a reward for the work he does. They made a very good and interesting team, such a mix of older and younger players. An unpleasant opponent, but of course we will want to succeed there, to give the same performance as we did on Thursday in order to make it in Moravia.” added the coach of Slavia.
Return of the Cobbler
The return of Petr Ševčík is important for the realization team of the stitched. They had very few midfielders and Ševčík showed himself to the fans for the first time since September 21 against AS Rome on Thursday.
“Šéva looked very good in training, he is the type of player who manages to return to the field after a long break and the pause is not so noticeable. He is unique in that, he also brought expanded lineup options to our team, he is a different type of player than so many others.” praised Köstl.
